Stella & Jack update

Stella and Jack are such amazing parents. The babies are nearly all grown, learning the bird ways from their dotting parents. It is a such a joy to watch them thrive. It seems that at least one is a male, as he is chirping along and learning his father's song.

The happy family is shown in the photo below. The babies are lined up behind their dad. As they are maturing, their beaks are changing the colour from black to orange.

Little Angels Aviary has relocated!

We would like to announce that our aviary has relocated the majority of its operation to Southwestern Ontario. This change has been rather bittersweet for us. While we are happy to expand our finch family to SW Ontario, we are also very sad to leave  Nova Scotia behind.   We will continue to provide lifetime support for our finches sold anywhere in Canada, and also hope to keep in touch with all our finch parents, no matter where they are. We look forward to the new adventures for our flock!

Blindness is not an obstacle for Tulip

As humans, we often take our senses for granted, especially our ability to see. It's hard to imagine what it would be like to lose our sight and have to navigate the world without it. But for our beloved society finch, Tulip, that is his reality. Tulip is completely blind due to old age, but that hasn't stopped him from living a happy and fulfilling life. Tulip started losing his sight about two years ago, but he adapted to his new way of life. He memorized everything in his cage and learned to navigate his surroundings using his other senses, such as hearing and touch. Despite being blind, Tulip can still perch and navigate flawlessly. It's truly amazing to see how resilient he is. It's remarkable to see how Tulip has adapted to his blindness and continues to live a happy and fulfilling life.
